Why soy?
Soy wax does not emit carcinogens (nasty chemicals) like petroleum based paraffin wax candles. Soy is a healthier choice. Vegetable based soy candles do not release harmful amounts of indoor air pollutants while retaining all the warmth, ambiance and fragrance. Soy wax is also emollient and makes a great massage lotion!
How is soy wax made?
First the soy beans are shelled and dried. Then the oil is extracted and hydrogenated. Hydrogenation alters the soy bean oil and soy wax is formed! The soybean shells are not discarded but are typically used as compost or animal feed.
Is your soy wax GMO free?
From time to time I am asked if the candles I make are made with GMO soy. 3rd party testing has been done on the soy wax that I use and the results are as follows: "There are no genetically modified markers present in the natural oils of this product."
Do you use essential oils in your candles?
We use phthalate-free fragrance oils combined with essential oils allowing a stronger scent throw without the use of harmful chemicals. Find out more on our INGREDIENTS page.

When can I expect my order?
Orders leave our worshop within 3-5 business days and take 2-3 days to arrive via USPS, 3-5 via UPS.
We do not shipped internationally but if you must absolutely have a Cape Cod Soy Candle I'm sure we can work something out! Just drop us a line at capecodsoycandle@gmail.com

How fragrant are Cape Cod Soy Candles?
We find that our candles fill a room quite nicely without being overpowering. Larger spaces may require 2 candles. Our 4 oz. {mini} candles are perfect for small spaces such as a bathroom. The larger 16 oz. {apothecary} size is perfect for large rooms.

How can I make my candle last longer?
Soy candles last much longer than paraffin candles.
Please have your candle lit for a maximum 3-4 hours at a time. Allow the melt pool to reach the edges of the jars before extinguishing. I always recommend blowing out your candle and replacing the cap and always TRIM YOUR WICK before relighting!!
Following these simple instructions will allow the candle to burn evenly and extend the life of your soy candle. Be sure to never leave a candle unattended or in reach of children, pets or a draft. Allow the jar to cool completely before handling.
